EpiSci completes pre-Series A capital raising to scale its Tactical AI autonomy suite to broader hardware platforms

[Poway, CA] – EpiSci, a pioneer of hybrid Tactical AI technologies designed for the hardware-enabled, software-defined autonomy paradigm, announced today that it has completed a pre-Series A funding round, with participation from four strategic investors (Decisive Point, Lockheed Martin Ventures, RTX Ventures, Top Aces). The funding will be used to scale EpiSci’s Tactical AI powered products that provide trusted, high performance, and scalable autonomous capabilities in a range of fields. “We’re excited to partner with our investors to take EpiSci’s Tactical AI to the next level,” said Bo Ryu, Founder and President of EpiSci. “Our technology is poised to transform the way existing and future autonomy platforms bring AI into their operations while maintaining the full trust of warfighters throughout the mission, and this investment will help us deliver it to a wider audience.”

EpiSci’s Tactical AI is designed to help operators make better decisions under high-pressure and complex situations. The platform uses hybrid AI and real-time data to provide insights and recommendations that can improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and save lives.

EpiSci has already established itself as a leader in the trusted AI and autonomy space within the defense industry through successful demonstrations and flight tests performed under various programs such as DARPA Air Combat Evolution and AFRL Golden Horde, with a growing list of customers that includes government agencies, defense contractors, and commercial companies. The new funding will allow the company to expand Tactical AI to reach new markets, while also investing in key talent and technology maturation.

“With the support of our investors, we’re confident we’ll be able to support a wider range of platforms, enabling our customers to operate with improved safety and effectiveness while experiencing a boost in performance,” said Bo Ryu.

EpiSci is a cross-disciplinary artificial intelligence company that develops next generation mission autonomy solutions for national security problems. Demonstrated in flight on platforms from networked, collaborative and autonomous swarm surrogates, to live F-16 dogfighting, EpiSci’s Tactical AI family of autonomous systems are powerful, reliable, and quickly adaptable to emerging missions and challenges. Additional applications include human-centric man-unmanned teaming for next generation air dominance, developing advanced wireless tactical communication systems for first responders, and powering autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms with sensor fusion.
