Tamal Bose


VP, Cognitive Sensors and Radio Frequency (CSRF)

Tamal Bose is Co-founder and VP of Cognitive Sensors & Radio Frequency at EpiSci. He is well known for his research and contributions in the field of signal classification, cognitive radios, and wireless communications. 

Dr. Bose served in several academic positions in his career, with his most recent appointments being at the University of Arizona, where he served as the department head and professor of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department from 2012-2022. Previously, he was a tenured full professor and Associate Director of Wireless@VT at Virginia Tech. Dr. Bose published extensively in his field, including over 250 technical papers, book chapters, and textbooks. He is the author of Digital Signal and Image Processing, John Wiley, 2004, and co-author of Basic Simulation Models of Phase Tracking Devices Using MATLAB, Morgan & Claypool Publishers, 2010. 

Dr. Bose has worked in the cognitive electronic warfare industry for over 20 years, including appointments at Raytheon (Engineering Fellow), Rincon Research, ICR, and Micro Motion. He received his PhD in engineering from Southern Illinois University.
